Telugu actor Chiranjeevi’s upcoming periodic film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has created a huge buzz since its trailer launch was launched recently, and received huge praise for its brilliant visuals, breathtaking performances and an iconic cast.
The official trailer released on August 20 has already received 9.9 million views on Youtube, to touch more than 1 crore view in just five days.
Evidently a lot of hard work and efforts by the makers of the film has been put in creating the Rs. 250 crore ‘SyeRaa’ set around 30 years prior to the India’s first war of independence of 1857, by his son Ram Charan Teja. It celebrates the glory of the unsung hero, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy whose contribution towards the Indian freedom struggle hasn’t been much highlighted. It’s an untold story which has been executed in the grandest manner possible and has captured the fighter in its full glory.
Talking about the film for the first time after revealing the news on his KBC Telugu show ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’, Chiranjeevi told his fan and co-actor Sunil way back in 2016. Finally, the film took its magnum opus shape in 2019 with his son taking on the challenge of producing it at a whopping cost that no film, not even Bahubali 2 incurred.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy still showing Tamannah in traditional attire

In his first remarks on Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Chiranjeevi said: “So in the textbooks, we are reading about great heroes that fought against the British for the freedom, but this story was not told anywhere. Nobody knows about this story. This story has all kinds of emotions suitable to a commercial film. That was why I was tempted to it.”
Not just Chiranjeevi, but Bollywood actress Tamannaah also has due respect for the freedom fighter. Sharing her views upon the same, Tamannnaah shares, “SyeRaa is a story people should know about, its about a hero that people don’t know about and should know about the freedom fight that we had.”
After gaining such valuable knowledge about the first Indian freedom fighter, ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’, the fans definitely eagerly awaiting the film so that they can experience the pride on Narsimha Reddy’s contribution to the Indian freedom struggle against the British Rule.
The period drama is based on the life of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who fought in what is known to be the first war of Independence against the British Rule in India.

Bahubali fame Prabhas not marrying Niharika, clarifies Chiranjeevi

Telugu actor and former Tourism minister Chiranjeevi has denied rumours spreading on the social media that ‘Baahubali’ fame Prabhas is going to marry his niece Niharika. The veteran Telugu actor has refuted all the rumours as baseless.

Niharika Konidela, daughter of Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagendra Babu, is not new to Telugu film industry . She made her debut with the film "Oka Manasu" in 2016 and her banner Pink Elephant Pictures is known for its web series under the name "Muddapappu Avakai", which is quite popular among the Telugu audience.

Niharika had hosted dance reality show Dhee Juniors, aired on ETV Telugu before entering the film indsutry. Currently, she is busy with the shooting of "Happy Wedding", to be released later this year.

Prabhas, who deferred his marriage plans for about four years during the shooting of Bahubali 1 and 2, was rumoured to have become closer to Anushka Shetty but both of them have denied it, disappointing many fans who wanted the Bahubali 2 pair to be realtime couple as well.

Later, there were rumours that a Vizag industrialist daughter would be the bride for Bahubali hero but it proved futile soon. Prabhas, who is a nephew of a veteran Telugu actor former BJP minister at the centre, Krishnam Raju, was not new to marriage rumours ever since he revealed to media after Bahubali that his mother would select a bride for him.

Currently, Prabhas is busy with Sujeeth Reddy’s film ‘Saaho’, a futuristic action film with breathtaking action sequences, death-defying stunts and jaw-dropping visual effects.

Apart from Prabhas, other cast include mostly Bollywood names such as Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Panday and Mandira Bedi. Scheduled for release in early 2019, the film will be followed by another film by Prabhas with Mohenjo Daro fame Pooja Hegde.

Ram Charan’s magic works, ‘Rangasthalam’ crosses Rs.100 crore

But for Ram Charan’s omnipresence in the film, the overtly dragged Telugu film ‘Rangasthalam’, directed by Sukumar based on a real story in a village in Rayalaseema, finally entered the Rs.100-crore club bringing cheers to the mega family of Chiranjeevi and the fans.

Despite unexplained beard he was sporting, Ram Charan’s role as a deaf pump repairing man in the village has revolved around the feudal system prevalent in a village that was striving to come out of the clutches of a village president in the pre-mandal era of Andhra Pradesh.

The final twist in the film makes many realise how a village youth could be determined enough to take revenge over his brother’s killing after reviving the target man from a two-year coma. What happens next is none of our problem as anybody could kill anybody and escape the arrest in the film. Was it like this in the early 1980s in Rayalaseema?

A perfect beginning and end but Sukumar has taken too much liberty to drag the film with little or no meaningful role to other actors. No wonder, Chiranjeevi was not convinced about the pace of the film that he had apparently suggested some re-shoots.

Samantha, in her most natural, form brings relief to a monotonous chasing throughout the film. Despite all the hiccups, the film has gone well for the mega family that it has crossed Rs.100-crore mark in just 3 days. Owing to its natural village settings, the film was undoubtedly more appealing to Australia where the film grossed the second biggest opening in 2018, second only to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “This is HUGE… This is an EYE-OPENER… Telugu film #Rangasthalam is the SECOND BIGGEST *opening weekend grosser* [2018] in AUSTRALIA… Collects A$ 289,768 [₹ 1.45 cr] in its opening weekend… Top 5 list follows… @Rentrak (sic).”

Also the Telugu film entered the Rs 100 crore club in just 3 days, the fastest Telugu film to get there after SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’. It has collected $2.45 million in USA becoming the 4th highest grosser among Telugu films.

Chiranjeevi’s Next 151 Film on Uyyalawada Kicks Off

Now that the Telugu version of KBC “Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu” is over, Telugu star Chiranjeevi is back to films as he is not going to relent despite the huge success of his 150th come-back film “Khaidi No. 151” that has minted more than Rs.150 crore.

The 151st film of Chiranjeevi is on famous rebellion against the British rulers in Rayalaseema by Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and “Dhruva” film director Surender Reddy has been roped in to direct this historic film. Its producer is again his son Ram Charan Teja under Konidela banner and this time Ram Charan is appearing not in a cameo role but in a full-fledged supporting role.

The film hit the floors on Monday, March 27, 2017. Surender Reddy had already given Ram Charan his big hit Dhruva last year. Chiranjeevi is planning two projects in 2017, one is with Surender Reddy and the other project is with Boyapati Srinu.

Currently, Parachuri brothers are working on a script for Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy which revolves around the rebellion carried out in Ceded districts against the British rulers, ten years before the 1857 Revolt took place in the north.

Born to Peddamalla Reddy in Uyyalawada, in Kurnool District on the banks of Kundu River, into a Polygars family controlling Koilakuntla, near Giddalur, Narasimha Reddy refused to share revenues with the British. He was in command of 66 villages spread over Kadapa, Anantapur, Bellary and Kurnool districts and had an army of 2,000 men.

After Rayalaseema was ceded to the British by the Nizam, Narasimha Reddy refused to oblige the British nad led an armed uprising. On 10 June 1846 he attacked the treasury at Koilakuntla and marched towards Kambham, which was in Kurnool district till 1970 before it became part of Prakasam District. Later, he killed a forest ranger in Rudravaram, which ignited serious reaction from the district collector, Thomas Monroe. A huge amount of Rs 5,000 for any information about him and Rs 10,000/ for his head was announced.

Unsuccessful to capture him, the British imprisoned his family at Kadapa, which forced him to move to nearby Nallamala forest. When he was hiding in Jagannatha Konda near Ramabhadruni Palle, police surrounded his hideout at night and he was captured on 6th October 1846.

Narasimha Reddy was humiliated and tied with heavy chains and paraded in the streets of Koilkuntla with blood-stained clothes and in all 951 people were charged and 112 of them were given prison term while Narasimha Reddy was hanged to death on 22 February 1847. More than that, his head was kept hanging to the fort of Koilakuntla for about 30 years from 1847 to 1877, so as to terrorize other freedom-fighters.

Forts built by Narasimha Reddy still exist in Nossam, Uyyalawada, Rupanagudi, Kristipadu, Uppaluru and Giddaluru.
