The written examination was conducted between August 21 and August 30, 2026. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the declared result have been shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process, subject to verification of their eligibility and supporting documents.

UPSC has advised qualified candidates to keep their original certificates ready for the interview. These include documents supporting age, educational qualifications, community and reservation claims, including SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories.

Candidates claiming reservation or relaxation benefits must produce certificates issued on or before February 27, 2026, the closing date for applications for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026.

Qualified Candidates Must Update Application Details Between November 11 and 25

UPSC has instructed all candidates shortlisted for the Personality Test to review, update and finally submit their application information through the online portal.

Candidates who had indicated that their educational qualifications were still pending at the time of the Preliminary Examination must mandatorily update their qualification status and upload proof of passing the required examination. Failure to complete this requirement will result in cancellation of their candidature, and no e-Summon Letter will be issued.

Depending on individual applicability, candidates must also update details relating to:

  • Correspondence and permanent postal addresses
  • Higher educational qualifications and achievements
  • Employment details and professional experience
  • Previous service allocations through Civil Services Examinations
  • Marital status and parental information
  • PwBD recommendations and debarment information
  • Previous examination and attempt details
  • OBC and EWS annexures, wherever applicable
  • Socio-economic questionnaire and service preferences
  • Home cadre preferences and details for disclosure on the Pratibha Setu Portal

Candidates who have already uploaded the required information and have nothing further to update must still log in, verify their details and submit the application form again. Failure to complete the final submission will also prevent the issuance of their e-Summon Letters.
