JNU Bus Incident: Navnirman Sena Man Held for Mysterious DTC Bus Bag

Delhi Police on Thursday night arrested Amit Jani, the Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena chief, who had threatened to kill Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar and another student Umar Khalid by leaving behind a bag full of weapons and a letter to kill the student leader.

The bag full of weapons and a letter threatening Kanhaiya and Khalid was discovered in a Delhi Transport Corporation bus at the JNU campus and the police found the signature in the letter belonged to Amit Jani.

However, the self-styled UP Navnirman Sena chief reportedly told the police that the country-made pistol found on the bus was meant to be used to kill AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi. Jani has been openly issuing statements declaring his intent to kill several leaders of political parties and student leaders.
