Delhi CM, AAP Chief Kejriwal Arrested by ED, 6 days after Kavitha’s arrest

Exactly six days after the dramatic arrest of Telangana MLC and former state Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha, the Enforcement Directorate raided the Delhi CM’s residence, seized his phone and also of his family members before starting a two-hour questioning in the Liquor scam that was being probed by the agency.

Kavitha was arrested by ED from her Banjara Hills residence in Hyderabad on March 15. Today’s arrest of Kejriwal has sent several Aam Aadmi Party members to protest against his arrest at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister.

Earlier today, the Delhi High Court rejected Kejriwal’s plea for interim bail after ED repeated the summons for the 9th time. The next hearing was scheduled for April 22.

AAP leader Atishi, who reached the spot, says, “We have received news that ED has arrested Arvind Kejriwal… We have always said that Arvind Kejriwal will run the govt from jail. He will remain the CM of Delhi.”

  • March 21, 2024: Arvind Kejriwal’s plea for aniticipatory bail rejected by Delhi High Court, hours later Delhi CM arrested by ED.
