The 68th Republic Day of India was celebrated in Caracas at the Indian Embassy Residence on Thursday.
India’s Ambassador Rahul Shrivastava unfurled the national flag and read out President of India’s address to the nation on the eve of the Republic Day. More than 60 members of the Indian community and friends of India in Venezuela participated in the event.
Prior to the Republic Day, a three-member Violin cultural group led by Santosh Kumar Nahar, sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) visited Venezuela from 21 to 24 January 2017.
The Violin group performed on January 22, 2017 at Casa del ALBA Hall in Barinas province and Governor of Barinas, Ms. Zenaida Gallardo had witnessed the performance, which opened with a dance by two children. President of Casa De ALBA later addressed the audience.
